The Information Commissioner’s Office stated that it would make inquiries into Klarna post scores of angry people questioned why it had their details despite not conducting any business with the payments firm.
The data protection watchdog confirmed that numerous people were aware of the marketing e-mail Klarna had sent out.

This was shortly followed by an e-mail sent in error, as they had not been added to any marketing database. But recipients still are anxious to know how the firm had their e-mail address in the first place.
