Qunnect, a manufacturer of quantum-secure networking devices, announced this week that it had raised USD 8 million in a Series A funding round, bringing the total amount invested in the business to USD 12.4 million.
Impact Science Ventures, Motus Ventures, NY Ventures, Quantonation, and SandboxAQ also participated in the new investment round, which was headed by Airbus Ventures. The New York-based company, which focuses on the engineering of quantum-secure networking solutions that can be deployed on existing telecom infrastructure, was established in 2017 as a spin-off venture from the Quantum Information Technology group at Stony Brook university.
In order to provide a commercial distributed entanglement network, Qunnect, which began selling the first quantum memory in the world last year, plans to deliver its first-generation product suite in 2023.
