Rapid7 a Boston-based company, claimed to have acquired Minerva Labs for $38 million in cash and shares on Wednesday.
Minerva Labs was an early-stage startup that had received $7.5 million in venture capital.
Minerva’s technology to assist small and medium-sized businesses with ransomware defense, exploit mitigation, critical asset protection, and browser isolation will be incorporated into Rapid7’s Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services to improve detection and response skills across cloud, on-premise, and extended attack surfaces.
Recent acquisition activity by Rapid7 includes paying $335 million for threat intelligence company Intsights and $145 million for DivvyCloud.
