The United States and other G7 countries have warned that governments who allow ransomware gangs to operate from within their borders and do nothing to stop them would be held responsible for their acts.
The warning comes as the leaders of the G7 countries pledged a collective commitment to combat what they called the “global issue” of ransomware.
The declaration, made during the G7 Summit in Cornwall, England, by Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, comes after a series of high-profile ransomware attacks.
