The vulnerability the researchers found in some of Schneider Electric’s Easergy relays could allow cybercriminals to disable the security of electrical networks. The vendor has issued patches that must address security breaches.
Three risks were discovered to protect the Easergy medium-voltage relay – two devices with the Easergy P5 impact and one affecting the Easergy P3 devices.
Schneider Electric notified customers of the threat in January and the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) issued advice last week. Built-in packets are sent to a network-targeted device.
