Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. (Singtel) reported that hackers had targeted a second subsidiary of the company, but analysts said it appeared the Southeast Asian telecom giant was not being specifically targeted.

Singtel included a statement from Dialog, an Australian IT services consulting firm it purchased in April, in a filing with the Singapore Exchange, confirming that “an unauthorized third party may have accessed company data.” A possible 1,000 current and former employees, according to Dialog, as well as “fewer than 20” of its clients, may have been impacted.

On October 7, after the unauthorized access had been discovered on September 10 and “a very small sample of Dialog’s data, including some employee personal information, had been published on the Dark Web,” the company said.
