Researchers at Russian cybersecurity company Positive Technologies have discovered 10 vulnerabilities – the bulk of which are rated critical or high severity – in CODESYS industrial automation software which is utilized in many industrial control systems (ICS) devices.
The flaws were first discovered in a WAGO programmable logic controller (PLC), but further investigation revealed that the problems were caused by CODESYS software, which is used by more than a dozen PLC manufacturers, including Kontron, Beckhoff, Moeller, Mitsubishi, HollySys, Festo, and several Russian firms.
