After threat actors attempted to reregister some of its users’ phone numbers to new devices, secure communications services provider Signal on Monday disclosed the impact of the recent Twilio hack.
After threat actors duped one of Twilio’s employees into disclosing their login credentials, the enterprise software provider Twilio announced earlier this month that it had been the target of a cyberattack. The threat actor gained access to internal systems that housed customer data by using the employee’s login credentials.
According to Twilio, 125 customers’ data were affected by the incident as a whole. One of the affected customers is Signal, which hired Twilio to provide phone number verification services.
