Florida-based venture capital firm, SYN Ventures, that invests in cybersecurity firms at an early stage, has announced the closing of a new 300 million USD fund and the hiring of serial entrepreneur Ryan Permeh as a full-time operating partner.
The new fund will target investments in cybersecurity, industrial security, national defence, privacy, regulatory compliance, and data governance companies, according to SYN Ventures, which has already invested in more than a dozen security-focused startups.
SYN’s new funding comes just a few weeks after YL Ventures, an Israeli firm, unveiled its own 400 million USD fund to lead seed-stage rounds of about 10 firms at a rate of three each year.
