The US government has recently confirmed that it will now allow Huawei, the Chinese
technology giant, to work together for setting standards for the 5G telecom networks.
Previously, the US has blacklisted the Chinese technology giant to work collaboratively due
to significant risk activities.
As mentioned by Wilbur Ross, US Secretary of Commerce in the press release, “The
Department is committed to protecting US national security and foreign policy interests by
encouraging US industry to fully engage and advocate for US technologies to become
international standards.”
Ross has announced new regulations for US companies to share technology with Huawei –
for developing advanced wireless services.
