In response to a bug that presented a security risk, Twitter said on Wednesday that some users had been logged out of their active sessions. Password resets were the cause of the problem; when users changed their passwords, their open sessions on Android and iOS devices were not ended. Users who were impacted have been informed directly.
Users need only log back into their accounts if they were signed out, according to the company, and web sessions were unaffected. The company claimed there is no need for users to take any action. It explained that a change to the systems governing password resets caused the bug to appear last year.
