Recently, a patched exposure related to the VMware Cloud Director has had a significant
impact on different cloud services providers. The fault poses major risks for cloud providers.
This could enable malicious attackers to take advantage and control of various private clouds – which are hosted on the same infrastructure.
Citadelo, a cybersecurity firm, has revealed that VMware disclosed the flaw (CVE-2020-3956) in May. This is a severe issue that enables an authenticated attacker to carry out arbitrary code. The researchers also shared details of the vulnerability describing its security hole and a proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit.
