VMware proclaimed that it is planning to acquire Mesh7, a firm securing cloud-native applications and micro services by controlling application behavior at the API layer.
VMware SVP and GM of the Networking and Security Business Unit, Tom Gillis, said in a statement that once the acquisition gets finalized, VMware plans to integrate Mesh7’s contextual API behavior security goods with the VMware Tanzu Service Mesh. The integration will allow VMware to produce a high-fidelity understanding of applications using APIs. Furthermore, security teams and developers will be able to get a better understanding of how, when, and where applications and micro services are communicating through APIs, and across multi-cloud environments to enable better DevSecOps.
