Data61 in collaboration with South Korean Sungkyunkwan University and Samsung Research announced a technology to prevent voice spoofing attacks. Voice liveness detection (Void) was created to be integrated with the voice assistance software or software to detect the difference between a recorded/ replayed voice and a live human voice. This prevents hackers from spoofing the organization’s system.
Voice technologies are used increasingly to control smart home devices, send messages, phone calls, banking services, and online shopping. Void technology allows accurate and efficient detection to prevent misuse of voice commands. The technology was tested on scrambled datasets from Samsung and Automatic Speaker Verification Spoofing and Countermeasures.
