SitePoint, a website that gives access to a wealth of web development tutorials and publications, has disclosed a data breach after one million user credentials were traded on a cybercrime forum last December.
In a security breach announcement this week, SitePoint confirmed an incursion into its systems sometime last year.
The company said in a statement that the accessed data mostly relates to name, email address, hashed password, username, and IP address. SitePoint has now recommended users reset passwords on all accounts and select at least ten characters long passwords just as a precautionary measure.
