The industry leader in video messaging, Zoom, has released patches for a number of security flaws that leave users of both Windows and MacOS open to malicious hacker attacks. On both the Windows and MacOS platforms, the vulnerabilities in the enterprise-focused Zoom Rooms product could be used in privilege escalation attacks.
Three “high-severity” vulnerabilities in Zoom Room for Windows Installers, Zoom Room for Windows Clients, and Zoom Rooms for MacOS Clients are patched as part of the company’s first batch of updates for 2023.
A path traversal vulnerability that Zoom fixed in its Zoom for Android Clients included a warning that a malicious app could use it to read and write to the Zoom application data directory.
