IDEMIA and Kudelski IoT present GSMA IoT-SAFE

IDEMIA and Kudelski
  • IDEMIA and Kudelski IoT present a simplified IoT solution that offers the entire Internet of Things environment robust identity and access management in order to optimize the security of IoT applications
  • This creates an urgently needed complete IoT security from the device to the cloud, which can be easily implemented by mobile network operators, original equipment manufacturers and service providers
  • The partnership offers a ready-to-use, cost-effective solution for IoT data security and integrity over the entire life cycle of a mobile networked IoT device

IDEMIA, the global leader in augmented identity, and Kudelski IoT, a division of the Kudelski Group (SIX: KUD .S), world market leader in the areas of digital security and IoT solutions, today announced the market appearance of a joint solution for mobile network operators (MNO), operators of virtual mobile networks (MVNO), original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and service providers who want efficient supply of IoT To enable devices on a large scale without compromising connectivity or data security.

With the growth of the Internet of Things around the world, the security of devices and the customer data stored on or captured by them has become one of the top concerns of users around the world. IDEMIA, a member of the Trusted Connectivity Alliance (TCA 1 ), and Kudelski IoT are meeting the challenge of data and device protection with a simplified, seamless security solution for the Internet of Things that is supposed to ensure the secure connection of devices to the cloud. The solution is particularly relevant as OEMs and service providers are looking for solutions that use embedded secure elements to protect their content.

IDEMIA’s IoT-SAFE solution offers the additional advantages of remote management and provision of OTA security certificates (over-the-air) and application updates directly to the highly secure SIM environment. This means that the solution can also keep pace with changing security standards.

With the seamless integration of the Root of Trust applet and keySTREAM system from Kudelski IoT with the secure elements and the OTA platform from IDEMIA, OEMs, mobile network operators and service providers now have a solution that enables them to provide the security services they need on their part to offer to their own customers and end users.

The combination of the respective leadership positions of IDEMIA and Kudelski in their respective areas enables a simplified approach to providing security for IoT devices and platforms through plug-and-play installation for networked security in all use cases.

“The industry is waiting for defined standards for IoT security. In cooperation with the GSMA and TCA, these standards and guidelines are now provided with IoT SAFE. IDEMIA is proud to introduce this breakthrough technology solution to the market thanks to the partnership with Kudelski. Market participants can thus enjoy independently developed technology with the additional advantages of seamless security for devices and data in the Internet of Things, ”explained Fabien Jautard, Executive Vice-President for Mobile Operators Activities at IDEMIA.
