Beastmode Botnet Adds TOTOLINK Routers and Other Device Exploits

Beastmode Botnet Adds TOTOLINK Routers and Other Device Exploits-01

Over the previous two months, the Mirai-based DDoS botnet known as Beastmode has added at least five additional exploits to its arsenal.

Three of the new exploits target TOTOLINK routers, one targets the D-Link DIR-810L, DIR-820L/LW, DIR-826L, DIR-830L, and DIR-836L routers, and one targets the TP-Link Tapo C200 IP camera.

Fortinet’s FortiGuard Labs researchers found the new Beastmode exploits (dubbed B3eastmode after wording in the code and an HTTP User-Agent header ‘b3astmode’ within the exploit requests). The botnet’s authors updated the TOTOLINK exploits less than a week after the vulnerability codes were made public on GitHub.
