Cisco to Acquire Cloud Security Firm Lightspin for Reported USD 200 Million

Cisco, a leading provider of networking equipment, has announced plans to buy Lightspin, an Israeli provider of cloud security solutions.

According to Israeli media, Cisco plans to spend up to USD 250 million to acquire the cloud security company. The platform from Lightspin offers capabilities for workload scanning, attack path analysis, runtime protection, attack surface discovery, Infrastructure-As-Code (IaC) security, cloud security posture management (CSPM) and Kubernetes security posture management (KSPM), as well as SOC2 compliance.

Cisco claims that by including Lightspin in its portfolio of cloud security tools, customers will be able to “identify, prioritize, and remediate critical cloud security risks without the hassle of onerous configuration requirements.”
