Cognizant said the Maze ransomware attack that took place in April 2020 will negatively impact its Q2 revenue. The IT service provider anticipates the revenue and corresponding margin impact to be in the range of $50 million to $70 million for the quarter.

Microsoft Notices a Significant Increase in Passwordless Logins

The ransomware attack encrypted some of the Cognizant’s internal systems and disabled them, pushing some of the company’s clients to suspend the access to Cognizant’s networks, due to the ransomware attack. It impacted Cognizant’s internal network, but customer systems were safe.
