Discovery of 56 OT Device Flaws Blamed on Lackluster Security Culture-01

Researchers have discovered 56 vulnerabilities affecting devices from 10 operational technology (OT) vendors.

Most of the vulnerabilities the researchers have attributed to inherent design flaws in equipment and a lax approach to security and risk management that have been plaguing the industry for decades, they said. According to research from Forescout’s Vedere Labs, the vulnerabilities discovered in devices by reputable suppliers differ in terms of their traits and what they permit threat actors to perform.

However, a blog post about the holes released on Tuesday states that overall “the effect of each vulnerability is significant dependent on the capabilities each device delivers.”
