'Key Group' Ransomware Makes Free Decryptor Available

Cyber intelligence company EclecticIQ has released a free decryption tool to assist victims of the Key Group ransomware in recovering their data without having to pay a ransom.

Key Group, also known as keygroup777, is a Russian-speaking cybercrime actor well-known for extorting money from victims and selling access to compromised devices and personally identifiable information (PII). Private Telegram channels are apparently how the group communicates with one another and disseminates information about offensive tools.

EclecticIQ assumes that the group began using NjRAT for remote access to victim devices based on this communication. On January 6, Key Group unveiled its ransomware family for the first time. Since then, attacks have continued to employ it.
