Microsoft Warns of Adrozek, Malware That Hijacks Firefox, Chrome, and Edge

Microsoft has issued a warning about a new malware strain that infects devices, modifying browsers and settings to inject ads into search results pages.

Dubbed Adrozek, the malware has been active since May 2020. According to the tech giant, the malware is being distributed by large, organized, and well-funded groups.

While tracking Adrozek, Microsoft researchers say that they found 159 unique domains used in attacks from May to September. Many of the domains hosted tens of thousands of URLs, and a few had more than 100,000 unique URLs, with one hosting around 250,000.
