Patchable and Preventable Security Risks Main Causes of Q1 Attacks

Between January and March 2022, there was a noticeable increase in cyber-attacks against US organizations, according to Tetra Defense’s quarterly report.

As per Tetra Defense, the widespread awareness of the Log4Shell vulnerability reduced the active exploitation and the external exposure was only the third most exploited, accounting for 22% of all incident response cases. With 33 percent of cases, the Microsoft Exchange vulnerability ProxyShell outpaces Log4Shell and takes the lead.

According to Tetra Defense, one employee’s accidental activity within the business was responsible for about 18% of the occurrences.
