Ransomware Group Takes Responsibility for LoanDepot and Prudential Financial Attacks

The notorious ransomware group known as BlackCat and Alphv has claimed responsibility for the recently disclosed cyberattacks on financial giants LoanDepot and Prudential Financial.

The two companies were identified on the BlackCat leak website on Friday, February 16, and, according to the messages published by the hackers, both have refused to pay a ransom. LoanDepot, a mortgage and non-mortgage lending firm, was known to have been targeted in a ransomware attack.

Prudential Financial, an insurance, retirement, and investment firm, did not reveal much about the type of cyberattack.
