SLP Vulnerability Entitles DoS Attacks with an Amplification Factor of 2,200

Security experts at BitSight and Curesec have warned that a high-severity vulnerability in the Service Location Protocol (SLP) might be used to embark on DoS attacks with a high amplification factor.

SPL enables unauthenticated, remote attackers to enlist arbitrary services making more space for these newly disclosed vulnerabilities and allowing attackers to use spoofed UDP traffic to execute a denial-of-service attack with a significant amplification factor.
