As per ICO, DGEL had sent more than 16,000 cold marketing texts to users in the UK between February and April. The messages offered users “effective hand sanitizers against the coronavirus”. The hand sanitizer is called “Zoono” and available on the website. The domain now leads to an American eBay store that doesn’t mention the coronavirus or the hand sanitizer’s supposed effectiveness against the virus in its description.
