Ukrainian authorities arrest six members of Clop Ransomware Operation

Law enforcement officers from the Republic of Korea and the United States, alongside the assistance and coordination of Interpol, the Ukrainian police arrested six alleged individuals of the Clop ransomware gang.

Belonging from a high-profile ransomware family, the Clop ransomware gang has its stronghold on major industries across the globe. Unit 42 researchers have observed a sharp uptick in the Clop ransomware activity in industries such as wholesale, transportation, education, manufacturing, telecommunications and many more. 

While searching for these gang members, the law enforcement officers conducted 21 searches in the Kyiv region, in the homes of the defendants and confiscated computer equipment, cars, and 5 million hryvnias in cash.
