Verizon Leaks Customer Conversations, Personal Data

Verizon Leaks

American telecommunications giant Verizon has been found inadvertently leaking customers’ information due to a flaw in a chat system on its website.

Addresses, account numbers, phone numbers, and other personal information have been leaked through a chat window that erroneously displayed conversations between customers and employees. The personal details appear when subscribers click on a link to chat with a Verizon representative about the availability of Fios services in their location.

The site has published several censored screenshots as evidence of the flawed chat system. Some of the transcripts reportedly date back to June, which means that the leak has been happening for months.
