A user manual was released by the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to assist organizations in preparing for the November 1, 2022, switchover from Traffic Light Protocol (TLP) version 1.0 to TLP 2.0.

TLP uses four labels to indicate sharing boundaries that recipients can apply and is used to inform recipients of sensitive information on the extent to which they may share the provided data. These four labels, TLP:RED, TLP:AMBER, TLP:GREEN, and TLP:WHITE in TLP 1.0, respectively, limit the sharing of information to certain participants only, participant organizations, the community, or full disclosure.

In order to “facilitate greater information sharing and collaboration,” CISA is urging organizations to adopt TLP 2.0 as soon as possible.
