Critical Cisco StarOS Bug Grants Root Access via Debug Mode-01

Cisco has released a significant bug fix to its Cisco RCM Cisco StarOS Software that can grant attackers RCE to the application root-level rights. Cisco has issued a security update warning about a number of risks involved in its network technology, led by a critical bug in StarOS’s debugging services.

Cisco released its Cisco StarOS Software upgrade on Jan 19. In its advice, the company said that an error in its debugging service could allow the attacker to access sensitive debugging data. Cisco StarOS Software works with Cisco ASR 5000 devices to operate mobile networks for businesses and service providers.
