FINRA or the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority has issued an advisory on its website warning businesses about an on-going phishing email scheme. The phishing email includes digital fraudsters posing as FINRA officers, requesting sensitive data.
All phishing emails have originated from “broker-finra.org”, and include authority figures in their message including the likes of Josh Drobnuk, and Bill Wollman. In a different variant of the emails, fraudsters have attached infected attachments and links to direct users to phishing websites. These attacks have also aimed to steal SharePoint, or Microsoft Office passwords.
