TPG Telecom, an Australian telecommunications company, announced this week that a threat actor gained unauthorized access to a service that hosts the email accounts of 15,000 customers.

TPG Telecom, the second-largest telecommunications provider in the nation, was formerly known as Vodafone Hutchison Australia before merging with TPG and changing its name. The business disclosed on Wednesday that a forensic investigation discovered unauthorized access to a hosted Exchange service.

The wireless provider stated that its outside cyber security consultants, Mandiant, had discovered evidence of unauthorized access to a Hosted Exchange service, which houses email accounts for up to 15,000 iiNet and Westnet business customers.
