The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officials have said that foreign government hackers have broken into companies conducting research into treatments for COVID-19. The officials said reconnaissance activity and some intrusions were noticed in institutions that have publicly identified themselves as working on COVID-related research. The FBI also said that state-backed hackers had often targeted the biopharmaceutical industry, and the number of attacks has now increased due to the crisis.
