In an effort to make Rust and C++ code more compatible with each other, Google granted the Rust Foundation USD 1 million.

It has also integrated it into other Google products, including Android. “Based on historical vulnerability density statistics, Rust has proactively prevented hundreds of vulnerabilities from impacting the Android ecosystem. This investment aims to expand the adoption of Rust across various components of the platform,” said Dave Kleidermacher, Google VP of Engineering, Android Security & Privacy.

According to Google, the prevalence of the programming language has increased and Rust’s compatibility with C++ and Android has also improved with various tools.
