Google Cloud Launches Confidential VMs Driven by AMD

Google Cloud Launches Confidential VMs

Google has recently rolled out its first Google Cloud product created to help businesses protect sensitive data. This is primarily for the organization in the regulated industries.

The product named Confidential VMs has been launched in the Google Cloud Confidential Computing portfolio, managed by the AMD EPYC processor. This would enhance the security of data that are in process with memory encryption capabilities – to be leveraged in the isolated cloud workloads.

As explained by Google, “Confidential Computing can unlock computing scenarios that have previously not been possible. Organizations will now be able to share confidential data sets and collaborate on research in the cloud.”
