Hacker threatens ransomware victims for GDPR compliance issues

More than 22,900 MongoDB databases were targeted by a hacker in a ransomware attack. The hacker has threatened to report the victims to authorities for being non-compliant to GDPR, if the ransom isn’t paid.
The hackers used automated scripts to detect MongoDB installations with no password on the Internet. The database contents are deleted and a ransom note is left to recover the lost data.
