Hackers Spoof Digital Identity with Gummy Browsers Attack

Researchers have developed a new system for scanning fingerprints and browser spoofing attacks called Gummy Browsers. According to them, this is an easy to perform attack to carry out with grave consequences.

In the attack sample, researchers were able to manipulate advanced and modern fingerprint systems (e.g., Panopliclick and FPStalker).

The Gummy Browsers attack focuses on collecting human fingerprints by enticing them to visit an attacker-controlled website. As the browser fingerprints become more popular, the effects of the Gummy Browsers attack can get really dangerous. It allows attackers to bypass security measures used to authenticate users.
