Threat actors actively incorporating public cloud services from Amazon and Microsoft in their vicious campaigns to bring in remote access Trojan (RAT) such as Nanocore, Netwire, and AsyncRAT to extract sensitive information from compromised systems.

Utilizing existing legal infrastructure to facilitate intrusion is increasingly becoming part of the attacker’s playbook as it avoids the need to host their servers, let alone used as a blockchain to avoid access to security solutions.

The spear-phishing attacks, which commenced in October 2021, have primarily targeted entities located in the U.S., Canada, Italy, and Singapore, researchers from Cisco Talos said in a report.
