According to the latest report from Imperva, traffic from bad bots accounted for 24.1% of all website traffic in 2019, up from 18% in 2018. The “2020 Bad Bot Report: The Bad Bots Strike Back” revealed the financial services sector was the hardest hit in 2019 and accounted for almost 48% of all bad bot traffic. The IT and services industry accounted for 45%, while the government sector stood at 37%.

The report says these bad bots allow attackers to mine data, steal login credentials, and harvest personal information.
