Lawsuit Filed Against Intel for ‘Downfall’ CPU Vulnerability

Intel

Intel faces a class action lawsuit for handling speculative execution vulnerabilities, specifically the recently revealed Downfall attack.

Plaintiffs, represented by Bathaee Dunne, filed a 112-page complaint alleging that Intel CPUs are “defective.” It leaves systems vulnerable to cyberattacks or significantly slowing performance due to vulnerability fixes.

The complaint states that Intel knew about speculative execution vulnerabilities since 2018, with the disclosure of Meltdown and Spectre.

While these flaws allow attackers to bypass security protections and access sensitive information, no public reports of such exploits occurring exist.
