Microsoft has released a sizable number of software updates with security themes and alerted users to the fact that at least three vulnerabilities are being used in active malware attacks.

The software company alerted users to the possibility of remote code execution, information disclosure, privilege escalation, and security feature circumvention by documenting 72 security flaws in the Windows ecosystem. Microsoft flagged three vulnerabilities as being “exploited” and issued a warning that hackers are using spoofing and phishing techniques to get around the operating system’s security measures.

Microsoft also urged Windows admins to pay attention to a pair of security feature bypass bugs — CVE-2024-21412 and CVE-2024-21351 — being exploited in malware attacks.
