Microsoft Paid USD 13 Million in Bug Bounty Programs for the Fourth Year in a Row

Microsoft has announced that its bug bounty programs have paid out more than USD 13 million for the fourth year in a row.

The tech behemoth disclosed this week that between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023, it granted a total of USD 13.8 million to 345 researchers from more than 45 nations. More than 1,100 reports of vulnerabilities resulted in payouts, with the highest reward reaching USD 200,000. Microsoft declared that it would distribute comparable sums in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

The company currently has 17 bug bounty programs, the majority of which are for its cloud platforms and services. Significant incentives are also provided to researchers as part of grants and challenges.
