Microsoft Says Users Will Now be Able to Go Passwordless

Microsoft has announced that customers will be able to remove their passwords from their Microsoft accounts and go passwordless.

Microsoft says users will be able to remove their password from their customer account and choose an alternative authentication option instead, such as verification codes sent via email or SMS, security keys, the Microsoft Authenticator mobile app, or the Windows Hello biometrics system.

The news comes after Microsoft tried this new setup earlier this year, in March 2021, when it allowed Azure enterprise users to ditch passwords for safer alternatives.
