Microsoft Warns About a Recent Nobelium Phishing Campaign Mimicking USAID

Nobelium is presently executing a phishing attempt, according to Microsoft, after the Russian-backed organization gained control of the account used by USAID on the email marketing platform Constant Contact.

According to Microsoft, the phishing campaign targeted approximately 3,000 accounts associated with government agencies, think tanks, consultants, and non-governmental groups. The majority of the infected email was delivered to the United States, although it had reached at least 24 countries.

According to Microsoft corporate vice president of customer security and trust Tom Burt, Nobelium initiated this week’s assault by getting access to USAID’s Constant Contact account.
