Microsoft witnesses a surge in cyberattacks as the US election nears

Cybercriminals have increased their activity as the election date of the US president is closing in on the date. The latest attack is similar to the ones observed in 2016.

Organizations across the globe have been using cyberattacks to intervene in foreign government affairs. In the last few years, cyberattacks have been central to the election process across the world.

To neutralize and prevent the efforts, the US government introduced a multi-million dollar bounty that focuses on identifying hacker groups having an alliance with foreign governments aiming to interfere in the US elections.
