Microsoft warns that a new ransomware family has been seen targeting logistics and transportation companies in Poland and Ukraine.

The activity surrounding the new malware family, which goes by the name Prestige and was first noticed last week, does not appear to be related to any of the ransomware or threat groups that Microsoft is currently tracking and is presently known as DEV-0960. However, because some of the targeted organizations have already been hit by the destructive HermeticWiper malware, the tech giant issues a warning about potential overlaps with previously noted Russian state-sponsored activity through victimology (also known as FoxBlade).

Along with deleting the backup catalog and all volume shadow copies, Prestige also turns off and back on file system redirection.
