Singapore Looks for Intelligence Officers on the Internet

In its search for intelligence agents with “different backgrounds,” Singapore has resorted to the internet. Now, 55 years after its inception in 1966, the Security and Intelligence Division (SID) launched its official website.

SID, which is housed inside the Ministry of Defence (Mindef), is the country’s external intelligence agency in charge of protecting the country from foreign threats. It provides local government agencies with intelligence and evaluations, as well as analyses global developments that may influence Singapore’s security and national interests.

According to a statement provided by Mindef, these include transnational risks such as cybersecurity and terrorism, geopolitics, and international relations.
