SolarWinds, an IT software provider, has accepted a recent security breach by a nation-state hacker gang. The hacker group managed to breach the security network and insert malware in the Orion platform. It is a software application meant for IT inventory monitoring and management. SolarWinds said that the malware impacts the versions of the platform between 2019.4 to 2020.21 (i.e., March 2020 to June 2020).

Due to the Trojan, the Orion platform now allows hackers to implement additional and extremely stealthy malware into the networks of SolarWinds clients. As per the official statement, 18,000 clients have been impacted by the malware.
