The Conti Ransomware Gang Claims Responsibility for Snap-On Tools Attack

The ransomware group Conti has claimed responsibility for the onslaught on the Wisconsin-based tool manufacturer. Snap-on, a high-end toolmaker, and is informing employees that a recent data breach may have exposed some of their personal information.

In early March, the maker of tools and equipment for the automotive, aviation, marine, railroad, and heavy-duty industries was forced to shut down parts of its network due to a cyberattack. Snap-on also says it initiated an inquiry into the event as soon as it was discovered, and it doesn’t believe the attack will have a “substantial impact” on the company’s operations.

Snap-on didn’t say what kind of cyber-attack the company was hit by, but the Conti ransomware gang has claimed responsibility.
